In the midst of the mountain scenery of the Dolomites, the highest film festival in Italy takes place in Val Gardena. At the end of the summer, the Dolomitale Film Festival will be the venue for a week for directors, filmmakers, producers, cinephiles and guests from the Alps and beyond.
In the selection of films, the festival focuses on international productions with the participation of at least one of the Alpine countries. The award goes to the best alpine documentary film and, in cooperation with the IDM Film Fund & Commission, the best South Tyrolean short film.
A colorful, varied supporting program, embedded around the artistic center of Antoniusplatz and the three screening rooms, completes the festival days.
For the opening ceremony of this year’s festival month of September, the mountain station of Mont Sëuc will be transformed into a cinema area at the end of August, which will make it the highest open-air cinema in Europe for one evening.
The Dolomitale is the first Langfilmfestival from the Romansh language area.
18th – 22nd September 2019.
